Serge M. Khavessian (Born
1962) joined Cofinance SAS in 2009 with a plan to strengthen and redevelop
Cofinance SAS’ portfolio, redefine its investment strategy by pursuing new
strategic alliances and partnerships such as co-investment and “club deal”
structures and support an ambitious and opportunistic short and medium-term
acquisitions program.
Throughout his career, Mr. Khavessian has rapidly
advanced within his organizations through various executive positions. During
his twenty years of experience in the real estate industry, Mr. Khavessian has
built a strong reputation as a creative, professional and entrepreneurial real
estate developer of retail, office, hotel and convention centers, leisure and
entertainment and housing projects. He specifically developed organizational and
management skills together with technical competencies in construction, legal
issues, leasing, asset / property management, public organizations and
networking.
Originally engaged by Gide, Loyrette & Nouel Law Firm in Paris, Mr. Khavessian
then joined Disney where he spent eleven years working on the implementation and
the development of the Eurodisney project in France. His responsibilities
included negotiating with the French Government Agencies to structure and secure
the land acquisitions and public infrastructures, as well as developing and
managing Disney’s commercial and leisure projects such as Disney Village Resort
and Val d’Europe, which is one of the most successful regional shopping centers
ever built in France.
After Disney, Mr. Khavessian pursued his career at Hammerson and Apsys, where he
added new business development and asset management to his growing portfolio of
skills. At Hammerson and Apsys, he was involved in the commercialization and
optimization of retail assets totaling more than 350 000 sqm, the lease
negotiation of more than 850 leases for a total value of 70 Million € and the
bidding and winning of major urban projects launched by public authorities or
cities in France totaling over 350 000 sqm and 450 Million €.
Mr. Khavessian is a holder of the Executive MBA of ESSEC Business School and a
Master Thesis in Law from Panthéon-Sorbonne University of Paris. He was
distinguished in 2003 with “The National Entrepreneur Award”, which was
hand-given by former Prime Minister, Mr. Rafarin. In 2002, Mr. Khavessian was
the Prizewinner of “The Tremplin Entreprises” competitive examination (over 450
projects) that was organized by the French Congress.
Mr. Khavessian lives in Paris with his two children, Tatiana and Maximilian.
